Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the development of the Araromi Sea-Side Kingdom, stating that his government will harness the area’s potential for economic growth and tourism. The governor made this declaration on Saturday during a visit to the coastal community as part of activities leading to his inauguration on Monday.

The visit to the beach, the Governor said, is part of the commitment of his administration to expand the tourism and investment prospects of the State.

Araromi Beach : How to get there?

By Car

If you are driving, start your journey from major cities in the South West region of Nigeria such as Lagos or Ibadan. From Lagos, take the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (A1) towards Ibadan. After passing through Ibadan, continue on the A1 towards Ife, and then head towards Akure on the A251. Once you reach Akure, keep following the A251 to Igbokoda. Upon arriving in Igbokoda, follow local signposts or use a GPS navigation system to reach Araromi Beach, which is located approximately 10 km from the town center. Ensure you have cash for tolls on the expressway, which could cost around 200-600 NGN depending on your vehicle type.

Public Transportation

To access Araromi Beach using public transportation, you can board a bus from either Lagos or Ibadan to Igbokoda. Buses operate regularly from various terminals, such as the Obalende or Ojota bus parks in Lagos. The ticket price typically ranges from 3,000 NGN to 5,000 NGN, depending on the bus service and the time of day. Once you arrive in Igbokoda, you can either hire a local taxi or take a motorcycle taxi (okada) to reach Araromi Beach, with costs estimated between 1000 NGN and 1,500 NGN.

Motorcycle (Okada)

If you prefer a more flexible option upon reaching Igbokoda, you can hire an okada (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Araromi Beach. 

This is a popular choice for locals and tourists alike. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
The fare should be around 500 NGN to 1,000 NGN depending on your negotiation skills and the distance. This option is faster and can help you avoid traffic in the area.
