State govt, police probe killing of Catholic priest in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro. Oyetoro was a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe, until his death. The late clergyman, who reportedly hailed from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State, was reportedly stabbed multiple times before his lifeless body was dumped by the roadside in Ajaokuta. The Kogi State Police Command, in its preliminary findings, disclosed that the deceased sustained severe machete cuts to the head. The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four police officers captured in a viral social media video allegedly making unprofessional and ethnically insensitive remarks to a member of the public during a stop-and-search operation along the Lagos–Benin Expressway. Ondo police arrest father for brutalising 10-year-old daughter with hot iron

The police in Ondo State have arrested a man, Amos Paul, for allegedly burning his 10-year-old daughter’s private parts with a hot pressing iron to punish her for bedwetting. Ayemafuge learnt that the incident occurred in Unaun, Upenme in Owo Local Government Area, and has sparked widespread public condemnation. Police kill two suspected kidnappers Recover weapons in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command said its operatives have neutralised two suspected kidnappers during a gun duel at Ilu Abo in Akure North Local Government Area of the state.
