2027: Storm In Opposition Camp Ahead Consensus-Candidacy
Summit moves by opposition parties to pick a single presidential candidate at their August 31 summit appear to have run into trouble even before the talks take root, Ayemafuge has gathered. Renewed distrust mainly between the camps of the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and that of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, is said to be fast eroding hope of a united front being championed by proponents of the summit. The summit was originally scheduled for August 18 but was shifted to August 31 following consultations by the six participating political parties and members of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives.
