CG NSCDC Orders Detention Of Officers Over Alleged N5.2m Extortion In Ekiti

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ahmed Audi, has ordered the immediate detention of officers allegedly involved in the extortion of N5.2 million from some youths travelling through Ekiti State. The disciplinary action followed a directive from the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who on Tuesday called for a full investigation into the disturbing incident captured in a viral video. The footage reportedly shows NSCDC personnel extorting money from a young man en route from Ekiti State to Akure, the Ondo State capital.
