The vice chairman of Ilejemeeje local government council in Ekiti sate, Mrs Grace Ogunyleye had been remanded in prison for kidnapping herself to collect ransom from the government.
Ayemafuge learnt that Mrs. Grace Ogunyleye faked her own kidnapping by going into hiding for about two or three days and her people started searching for her whereabouts but all efforts to locate her proved abortive.
On the third day, she instructed the two men who she perfectly arranged the fake kidnapping with to call one of her colleagues in Ilejemeeje local government council area of Ekiti sate to tell the colleague that she had been kidnapped.
Immediately, her colleague blew the news open that Mrs. Grace Ogunyleye had been kidnapped.
Thereafter, her colleague called her own line back to know how safe she was but the same man who called her colleague earlier collected the phone and told her colleague that she had not been killed but failure to pay #15 billion in twenty-four hours she would be wasted.
Our correspondent reported that according to an impeccable source, it was at that point pandemonium broke out around the council complex.
When the authority of Ilejemeeje local government council started finding out about who could be responsible for her kidnapping that one of her colleagues who she mentioned such plan of faking her kidnapping to some months ago out of curiosity reported what the vice chairman discussed with her months ago to the authority of the local government.
Another eye witness who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that intelligent search was carried out by authority of the local government based on the information her colleague released to them and the intelligent search led to where they met Mrs. Grace Ogunyleye inside an uncompleted building at the outskirt of the community where the Ilejemeeje local government council capital is located and met her very free, untied and no man was there with her at the moment, dining and wining with turkey lapps.
Ayemafuge understands that it was at that point police was called to arrest her immediately.
She was taken to court the following day for trial. When she was asked if she was guilty of the offense of faking her own kidnapping or not, she admitted that she was guilty and pleaded that the judge should please, tamper justice with mercy on her case.
The judge ordered to take her to remand while her case will resume for further hearing.

The Malian coach directed his first match, resulting in a 2-0 win against Rwanda during a qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup. Chelle's appointment by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took place on January 7, as he replaced Finidi George and succeeded interim coach Augustine Eguavoen. However, his initial team selection remained perplexing. Chelle opted for a highly offensive formation in Kigali, which appeared unbalanced on paper. Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, and Moses Simon were all included in the attacking lineup, while Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi occupied the midfield positions. "I had mixed feelings. […]
