Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa officially welcomed the newly elected Chairmen of the 18 Local Government Areas on Monday, urging them to take immediate action. He emphasized the importance of listening to the community, understanding their challenges, and addressing their needs effectively.
Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the high expectations from the citizens and stressed that failure was not an option. During the inauguration at the International Centre For Culture and Events (The Dome) in Akure, he highlighted the necessity of collaboration with legislative councils and public servants, reminding them that accountability to the people is paramount.

The governor also reaffirmed the establishment of the 33 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), which aim to bring governance closer to the citizens. He stated, “We share a collective responsibility to ensure their success, fostering trust and inclusivity with the main local governments.” In closing, Aiyedatiwa reminded the new council leaders that with great responsibility comes great expectation, urging them to be innovative and committed to the welfare and progress of their communities.
