The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, stated that his company decided to reinvest in Ogun as a result of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s policies that are favorable to investors. Dangote shared this information during a courtesy visit to the governor at his office in Abeokuta. He emphasized that Ogun has emerged as one of Nigeria’s premier investment hubs by establishing itself as the manufacturing foundation of the country.
The President of Dangote Group commended Abiodun’s vision and initiatives, which have actively fostered private sector development and promoted entrepreneurship through significant collaboration with investors.

“Our factory in Itori faced demolition on two occasions. In the second instance, not only was the factory destroyed, but the surrounding fence was also taken down, leading us to abandon the project.
“Nevertheless, thanks to Governor Abiodun’s initiatives, we have returned. Anyone who visits the factory now will be impressed by the progress made,” he remarked. He also disclosed that the company had previously decided against investing in the Olokola Free Trade Zone in Ogun Waterside Local Government due to earlier challenges.

In an update regarding ongoing projects, Dangote revealed that two new cement production lines, with a total capacity of 6 million metric tonnes per year, have been established in Itori.
He also mentioned the establishment of a cement plant in Ibeshe with a capacity of 12 million metric tonnes per annum, which will enhance the group’s production capabilities in the state.
Once completed, the total output from the company’s facilities in Ogun will reach 18 million metric tonnes annually, positioning it as the leading cement-producing region in Africa.
He underscored the necessity for private enterprises to back government initiatives in light of Nigeria’s expanding economy, reaffirming that the Dangote Group is dedicated to the nation’s development.
He expressed his company’s commitment to investing in Nigeria and revitalizing the economy, demonstrating steadfast confidence in the country and its citizens.
In reply, Abiodun expressed gratitude to Dangote for his visit, his faith in the state, and his ongoing dedication to Nigeria’s economic advancement.
He also praised Dangote for generating employment opportunities and making substantial contributions to national development through business growth and global advocacy for Nigeria.
