The House of Representatives on Thursday mandated its relevant committees to investigate the territorial status of Eba Island, a geographical area currently being contested by Ogun State and Ondo State. Violence rocked parts of Oyo State on Saturday amid local government congresses held by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.The violence erupted between the faction loyal to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and the faction loyal to the incumbent governor of Oyo State, His Exellency Seyi Makinde.Ayemafuge learnt that the Wike-led faction organised its local government congresses on Saturday.The congresses however turned violent, leading to attacks on several persons resulting in about 25 people been reported injured.Properties, including houses and vehicles, have been vandalised in some of the local government areas of the state. The Police have arrested a suspected member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), identified as Eniba, over alleged violent attack on some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State during a stakeholders’ meeting in Akure.Those attacked by the suspected political thugs include a former State Chairman of APC, Engr. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has removed the Force Public Relations Officer(FPRO), ACP Benjamin Hundeyin.This is coming just six months after he assumed office.Ayemafuge gathered information that the approval for Hundeyin’s removal was granted on Thursday, March 5, 2026, by the new Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.The circumstances surrounding the decision remain unclear.
