Former Ekiti Deputy Governor Modupe Adelabu at 75 – Tinubu felicitates with her

Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, a respected educationist and former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, as she marks her 75th birthday on May 23.

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Professor Adelabu for her outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s education sector and her dedicated service to Ekiti State.

A professor of education and a princess of Ado-Ekiti, Adelabu made history as the third woman to serve as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State during the administration of former Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The President commended her latest scholarly work, Navigating the Politics of Universal Education Policies in Nigeria, describing it as a significant contribution to public policy and a valuable resource for education policymakers.

“Professor Adelabu has shown a lifelong commitment to advancing knowledge and shaping education in Nigeria. Her new book addresses some of the key challenges in educational policymaking and is a testament to her expertise and passion,” the President noted.

President Tinubu also described her as a role model for Nigerian women and wished her many more years of impactful service and divine grace.
