The radical and the brilliant Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa was born at Ode-Etikan in the present day Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, to the family of St Festus Ogbon-Olorun Adegboruwa, founder of Episcopal Church of Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Zion, Oke-Mimo, Ode-Etikan Branch on March 21, 1965. He lost his mother at a very tender age only to be cared for by his father. 

Education

He attended United Anglican School, Ereke Agba (now St Luke’s Anglican School, Ode-Etikan. He proceeded to Ilaje Grammar School, Atijere and subsequently returned to complete his studies at Community Grammar School, Zion Pepe all in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth but was determined to attain lofty heights through weird determination. He proceeded to the famous Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. He was subsequently elected as Students Union Government President. As the president of OAU SUG during the turbulent period of Nigerian political history, when truth was a libel, he suffered persecution and temporary rustication which was later upturned by Late Gani Fawehinmi, SAN.

He was Babangida’s and Sani Abacha’s headaches as a Students Union leader and human rights lawyer. He had and has continued to challenge Lagos State’s and Federal Government’s anti-people policies, many of which he won for the people. In recognition of his contributions to the advancement of justice, St Luke’s Anglican Church, Ode-Etikan, where his late father was once sponsored as an evangelist honoured him with the award Grand Defender of the Truth and Justice.

He was elected the Chair of West African Bar Association and became the first Etikan man to be elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 2020. He is the brain behind Learned Expression in Tribune Newspaper. He was honoured this year by Ondo State Government as a luminous sun of the state.
