The All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom Chapter has formally endorsed the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office.
Our correspondent reports from the UK that the endorsement was announced during a special dinner organised on 22/03/26 to round off the President’s state visit to the United Kingdom.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the APC UK Chapter and Chairman of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen (APC-CDC), led APC supporters and diaspora groups in expressing their strong support for the President’s continued leadership and the Renewed Hope agenda.
The event attracted several prominent government officials, party leaders, and distinguished guests. Among those present were the First Lady of Kwara State, Her Excellency Ambassador Olufolake AbdulRazaq; the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; and the Minister for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande.
Also in attendance was the Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
Members of the National Assembly present included distinguished Senators Osita Izunaso, Wasiu Sanni Eshinlokun, and Francis Fadahunsi, while Fuad Kayode Laguda represented the House of Representatives. The Chairman of APC in Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, alongside Hon. Mutiu Are, also graced the occasion, further adding prestige to the evening.
Diaspora support groups were well represented, including the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Diaspora Director Hon. Tunde Doherty; Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria (TFIN) led by Director Hon. Ahmed Bala; and the City Boys Movement (CBM) led by Prince Bidemi Akintunde (Stainless) and Friends of PBAT led by Hon. Henry Balogun.
The event also witnessed the presence of several notable personalities from the entertainment industry, led by Nollywood legend Zack Orji, whose attendance added colour and excitement to the evening.
The APC UK Chapter stated that the endorsement reflects the confidence of Nigerians in the diaspora in the leadership of President Tinubu and their continued support for policies and programmes aimed at advancing national development and strengthening Nigeria’s global partnerships.
The dinner served as a fitting conclusion to the President’s successful visit to the United Kingdom and highlighted the strong backing he continues to enjoy among Nigerians living abroad.

Tragedy: Former deputy governor loses two children in accident
The immediate past Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, has lost two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, in a fatal road accident. Our correspondent in Bauchi reported that the siblings reportedly died on Saturday after the vehicle conveying them was involved in a crash with a long vehicle (Trailer) on the Bauchi–Azare highway while they were returning to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.They were said to have died on the spot of the accident due to the severity of the impact. Court remands Sowore in Kuje Prison, dismisses recusal request
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday remanded the Presidential Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the determination of an application seeking a stay of execution of an earlier court order revoking his bail. The trial judge, Justice Mohammed Umar, also dismissed an application by Sowore seeking his recusal from the case over allegations of bias.In a brief ruling, Justice Umar directed that the defendant remain in custody pending the hearing and determination of a motion for stay of execution filed by his new counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika SAN. Heavy military casualties in Niger Republic as attacks claim 265 security personnel
No fewer than 265 members of Niger’s Defence and Security Forces (FDS), including senior officers, have reportedly been killed in a series of coordinated attacks across different parts of the country between June 17 and June 19. Our correspondent in Niger Republic reported that according to security sources, one of the deadliest incidents occurred in Inates, where 101 soldiers were reported killed during an attack attributed to fighters of the Islamic State in the Sahel. The President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has reaffirmed plans to develop a large-scale industrial and free trade zone at Olokola in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. Osun election: Police mop up 34 illegal weapons
Ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State, the Nigeria Police Force says it has mopped up 34 illegal firearms. CSP Aniete Iniedu, the Force Public Relations Officer, made the disclosure during a town hall meeting held at the Osun State police command headquarters in Osogbo on Thursday. Osun: Navy arrests APC Assembly candidate, others over alleged possession of gun
Babatunde Komolafe Festus, an All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly candidate in Osun State, has reportedly been arrested by the Nigerian Navy personnel in his hometown, Ifewara, over alleged possession of a gun.
