Veteran Nollywood actor, Kola Oyewo dies at 80

Veteran actor and scholar, Professor Adekola Oyewo, popularly known as Kola Oyewo died at the age of 80 years. The news of his death was announced on Friday by his son, Adetoyese Oyewo, through a message shared on his Facebook account. In the announcement, Adetoyese described his father as a man whose life was marked by “love, wisdom, strength and kindness. “It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved father,” he wrote.He said that although the family was grieving, they remained grateful for the life Professor Oyewo lived and the impact he made on countless individuals throughout his lifetime. Kidnapping: Local government vice chairman in Ekiti remanded in prison

Ondo govt issues appointment letters to 930 newly recruited health workers

The Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA) has commenced the distribution of appointment letters to newly recruited health professionals across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State, in a major boost to primary health care delivery and human resources for health.The exercise, which began on Thursday at the Agency’s headquarters in Akure, covers medical doctors, nurses, midwives, community health extension workers, laboratory scientists, pharmacy technicians, health information officers, and other cadres. Four corps members die in road accident

The police have confirmed the death of four serving members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in a road accident involving a military gun truck and a commercial Hummer bus on the Narehi axis of the Girei–Song road in Adamawa State.According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, the crash occurred at about 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday. He explained that the accident happened when the military vehicle, travelling from Gombi to Yola, collided head-on with the commercial bus conveying five passengers from Yola to Mubi. Nguroje said six people died in the accident.According to him, police preliminary findings indicate that the impact of the collision caused the commercial bus to overturn and burst into flames. All five passengers aboard the bus were reportedly trapped and burnt to death. He stated that preliminary identification showed that four of the […]

An Ikeja Special Offences and Domestic Violence Court yesterday sentenced four men to 14 years imprisonment for armed robbery.
