The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended the Students’ Union Government (SUG) President and two other union officials over alleged violations of the institution’s regulations.
In a statement issued by the university, the affected student leaders were directed to step aside pending the outcome of an investigation into the allegations against them. The university said the decision was taken to ensure a fair and transparent review process.
Although details of the allegations were not fully disclosed, the institution emphasized its commitment to maintaining discipline, order, and accountability within the university community.
University authorities stated that the suspension is a temporary administrative measure and does not amount to a final determination of guilt. The affected officials are expected to cooperate with the investigation while disciplinary procedures are ongoing.
The development has generated reactions among students, with many calling for a transparent process and a timely resolution of the matter.
FUOYE management reiterated its dedication to upholding the institution’s rules and ensuring that all students and campus organizations operate within established guidelines.
